02 / About

I’m Sylvia, an artist from Austria. I mostly paint with acrylic and oil, usually on canvas. Often realistic, sometimes abstract.

Sylvia Pasmangiu

I don’t have a favourite style. I let all sorts of things inspire me: minimalist drawings that still go into full detail, and metallic art just as much. And if I had to name a favourite artist, it would be Van Gogh, because of Starry Night.

Most often I reach for green and grey. Not because I decided to. It just happens.

“When I paint I can switch my head off and find some quiet.”

What I’m working on

More detail. Faces. And charcoal on paper.

03 / Process

How a picture comes about.

  1. 01

    Idea

The ideas usually come just before I fall asleep. Sometimes Pinterest is the spark. But nothing ever gets copied.

  2. 02

    Plan

The picture is finished in my head before the first stroke lands. Mostly I stick to it.

  3. 03

    Painting

Acrylic or oil, usually on canvas. When something is finished, I decide intuitively.

  4. 04

    Finish

Signature and date on it, then the glossing. That’s the moment I paint towards.

Brushes, a used palette and a canvas part way through.
Work in progress.

04 / Commissions

Got a motif in your head, a photo, an idea? I paint on commission too.

Realistic is what I like best, but abstract or street style just as much. Acrylic or oil, on canvas, in the size that fits your wall.

How it works
